Contacts import is not an option

Hi,
Have moved from an iPhone 8 to GrapheneOS. Trying to transfer contacts, SMS, etc. I have exported my contacts from the iPhone to a .vcf on my Google drive. Trying to import them by following some online guides and in Graphene in the contacts app the option to import is just not there. It's a fresh install and up to date. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Even in the settings of Contacts? It shows Import, Export and About Contacts at the bottom for me.

schweizer . Thanks. I know that. It's just not there. However, there is no separate contacts app. I am having to get to contacts via the phone app. There is no separate contacts app.

Display options
Sound and vibration
Call recording
Quick responses
Calling accounts
Blocked numbers
Voicemail

maxkeogh Hi, there should be a dedicated contacts app... If you go to settings and search for 'contacts', half way down should be the app. Click that and make sure it is enabled. If so, you can just launch the app by clicking the button on the top right. Hope this helps.

Did you perhaps accidentally disable Contacts?

In that case, they won't appear in the app drawer, but you can re-enable them under Settings > Apps > See all Apps > Contacts > Enable.

Sorry if my comment is unnecessary -- all the more so as I have a Pixel 6a -- but I just wanted to say that I finally managed to transfer all my contacts (plus their details) through the use of Vcf:
1) I asked my old Samsung smartphone to share all of them (it then created the Contacts.vcf file)
2) I sent it to myself by email
3) I opened the email with my Pixel 6a and downloaded the file
4) I opened the contacts app and after +/- 30mn I was on the verge of total despair when I FINALLY found the option to import them -- the desired menu finally appeared -- and it worked PERFECTLY!
It happened just a few days ago so I don't remember exactly how I did it but it can be done! (it was a question of itinerary)
So this post was a message of hope: importing all contacts in only one go DOES work :-))

New user on a Pixel 10 pro here. I was also struggling with getting my contract from Android to the contacts app in the Pixel and stumbled on this thread.

I was having the same issue as maxkeogh where I open the contacts app and only see the list he’s seeing. As I didn’t see anyone provide a concrete solution I want to pitch in for the next person finding this. Here’s how I ended up getting my contacts exported and imported.

First I used this link to export my contacts
On the Pixel I open the apps and search for settings.
In the settings screen I searched for Apps, select the Apps, Apps one (there’s also Apps, Storage)
Click on See all apps and scroll down to Contacts
At the top on the new screen you see App Info and all the way on the right you see the external link icon, press it
In the new screen, click on the hamburger menu and click Setting
Here you’ll see the import option in the menu.

I transferred the contacts.vcf file through USB to the Pixel phone and imported it with the steps above.

I just tap on the contacts.vcf that I downloaded from wherever or USB and it self populates the contacts app.

That worked for me. But someone needs to come up with a "slam dunk" way to move stuff over from the old phone. Whatsapp seems to be a special case though.
