  • Messaging app is messing with the names and phonenumbers

After i ported my Data to a new phone via seedvault-backup the messaging app does not show the correct names for the conversations. If I answer a sms, the reply goes to a different phone number. Is there a way to reset the contact assignment of the messaging app. Contacts seem to be fine.

      People here sometimes recommend this "SMS Import / Export" app to migrate SMS & MMS history from stock android to GOS:

      Maybe start fresh and retry using the above app?

      Seedvault is unfortunately known to be very unreliable.
      Personally I backup everything manually, one app / data type at a time.

          It was not Stock Android i ported from. It was grapheneos. Is there a way to just backup the messaging app and or reset the data of the new phone? I will try the app.

              Yup, give it a try. Should work fine for you.

              You can Wipe, Import, and Export with that app.
              It works for Messages, Call Logs, and Contacts.
