Hello! I am getting a Pixel 7 soon and am excited to put GrapheneOS on it. However, my main computer uses Fedora KDE Linux and I see that it's not officially supported. My only other option is a rather underpowered HP laptop running Windows 11.
I'm not a very advanced user, just started using linux a month ago, so I'm worried if I try to install from Fedora I'll mess something up as well as on the laptop due to possibly not meeting minimum requirements. I'd like some input on what I can do in this situation.

    pijun I don't see any reason why it would mess anything up. Use a supported web-browser and see if it works for you. I used Brave.

    The only issue I can see, is that the drivers might not be available for your system. I had to install drivers/SDK to get my Windows 10 computer to recognize my Pixel 6.

      I have no experiences with Fedora GNU/Linux although I am an GNU/Linux user since many years. So I can not help here and I even found nothing with my favorite search engine.
      But you can have a look here for the minimal hardware prerequisites and it looks like that your Windows 11 machine has a little bit too little memory (maybe you could use this case for a little clean out? ;) ): https://grapheneos.org/install/web#prerequisites

      But do you know that you can install GrapeneOS from one Android device to another (after ? I did this using Bromite browser with an Pixel 3 XL to my current Pixel 6 and the original USB C to USB C cable. It worked fine.

        Unfortunately I've done all I can to make the computer storage smaller, Windows is quite chonky.
        I would use another phone, but I unfortunately broke my last one which is why I'm getting a Pixel 7.
        I asked a few times elsewhere and was sent this; I'm wondering what you think of it.

        I followed the guide, though I am not using the Silverblue version.

            pijun I think there two ways for you:

            1. As Colvdv wrote above: See if it works with Fedora. You have already Android tools on board. I've read sometimes here and in other places, that Pixels are really hard to brick. Try it.

            2. You could borrow another Android device for installation. I think there are other Android users in your environment. ;) It just takes several minutes.

              I installed Graphene using Endeavor Linux. I installed SDB tools and used Google Chrome to install it. It works just fine..

              I gave up after Fedora and Windows wouldn't detect the phone in the bootloader, so I used another android to install it.

                pijun Were you running Gnome on Fedora? The install instructions indicate that Gnome will not work.

                Did you install the drivers on Windows? The install instructions indicate this is a requirement, or else it will not work.

                I had the best luck with XFCE, KDE, or i3.

                              eautalus I'm pretty sure it's not possible to install GrapheneOS from a PC running Fedora Silverblue. I can't recall the reason why it doesn't work.

                              Off topic but...you could try flashing from another Android device, if you have one.
