Hi, a Pixel 7 user here.

Installed GOS recently and have a few questions, please:

  • I have Always On display enabled. When I lock my phone (by pressing power button once), it displays the Always On screen but then "blinks" very quickly after a few seconds as if the screen refreshes and then again displays Always On display with no further "blinks". This happens every single time. Is this expected?

  • A bit hard to explain, but when I press my finger to unlock the device, it also does some random actions after unlocking as if I was tapping on unlocked screen. This happens very often - I unlock the device and then it selects a file or does an operation in the background app as if I was tapping/pressing there instead of unlocking. Never had this issue with all my previous phones. I didn't enable "Increase Touch Sensitivity" option.

  • Does Always On display automatically change pixel position on screen? This is true for Samsung devices, just want to make sure it won't burn the screen.

  • A privacy question: can an app secretly use permissions that were not declared in manifest file? For example, if there are no Location permissions declared in manifest file, can the app still use Location secretly? In this case, will the system flag it and ask me to allow/deny the permissions?

Thanks in advance.

Mine behaves the same. I assume that flicker is transition to low display refresh rate to preserver battery.
