Dual sim set-up question

Hello,
I'm considering setting up my 7a with a dual sim (one physical and one data only esim). I've searched the forum and it seems to be mixed bag as far a functionality and issues goes. Has anyone set up a physical sim alongside an e sim with relative ease and issue free? I would use the physical sim for tradition calls/SMS, and the esim for VOIP and internet. Any adivce or suggestions would be appreciated.

It has been working fine on my device. I rarely use carrier based calls or SMS, but I switch mobile data between the two SIMs fairly regularly, which can be done with a few taps.

Hello again, I've installed an esim - are there any drawbacks to leaving the esim support toggle enabled? Graphene recommends it for those with a PIN, but are there any issues that could arise from leaving it enabled otherwise?

rbb You should keep the toggle enabled so you aren't locked out of your device in case you need to remove the eSIM and are unable to access the OS due to a bug or something.

That was my concern with adding an esim. Is it easy to accidentally lock yourself out of the OS with an inadvertent mis-step? It seems other have had the issue.

I think a good way to think about it is that it's easy at any moment to disable a physical SIM card by popping it out, so the parallel would be to have the eSIM management software enabled while an eSIM is in use. Otherwise it would be a bit like using a physical SIM card with the SIM drawer glued shut -- OK in theory, but arguably imprudent.
