  • Phone & SMS with Secondary User Profile & Private Space

I'm trying to figure out if I want to use a secondary user profile or private space. While I can figure out the ins and outs of using most apps with either, the one thing I have not been able to figure out (no sim card in GOS phone at this time) is how incoming Phone Calls or SMS messages will work with either.

The assumption is I have logged into the owner profile and also the secondary user profile or private space, and the phone is now at the lock screen. The secondary user profile or private space is running in the background. The owner profile has no contacts, but the secondary user profile or private space has all my contacts in it.

  1. If I receive a phone call from a contact, will the phone look up the incoming call against my contacts and display the callers name (from my contacts) as the call comes in?
  2. If I receive a text message, SMS, from a contact will it get routed to the secondary user profile or private space where that phone number is in my contacts?

I understand phone and text are not secure, but I have many people I must communicate with in this manor, beyond my control.

    When you set up a user profile you can toggle whether or not it can send and receive SMS and phone calls.

    Assuming that you do allow it, you can answer/make phonecalls and SMS like normal. The one caveat is that SMS notifications won't be descriptive (will just say that you have a new message).

    Contacts are not shared between profiles so you need to import them manually into every profile that you want them in. They also don't sync across profile's (unless your contacts app has a sync feature that you have set up to do this).

        The thing I'm still confused about is if I receive a call, while the phone is at the lock screen, will the phone look up the incoming number against the contacts that are only in my second profile and display the name of the incoming caller?

        Note I intentionally am looking at only having my contacts in the secondary profile or private space. But it is also important that I can tell who is calling, as I don't memorize phone numbers any more.

        I have searched and searched, and I can find nothing talking about this sort of behavior.

            beach the incoming call will use the contacts ( or lack of) based on the profile currently in use ( even if it's on the locks screen).
            Private space does not have phone or SMS app.
