  • Updates failing. Ntwk seems good. Possible settings too strict?

running Version: TP1A.221005.002.2022100300 stable and getting the error (with or without VPN, >a week of trying):

"Failed to check for updates. An error occured checking for the latest update. The update system will try again soon. Unable to resolve host "releases.grapheneos.org": No address associated with hostname"

I can ping "released.grapheneos.org" from terminal.

When I was doing initial setup I was setting pretty tight controls. Is there a chance I may have set a config that would cause updates to fail like this? Any other suggestions for repeated failing?

FYI, I did search before posting - I found a 6-month old reddit post that was 0 help.

mucr yes you could very well have removed network permission from the system update service.

Metroplex, thanks for your insight. I have reviewd Settings for anything relating to this and the only thing I find even close to this is in the System Update page : "Permitted networks" and that is set to "Any". Screenshot: https://ibb.co/HqD6jDy

I also went to Apps and see nothing specific to updates (so I chose Vanadium because it has Network permissions) > Permissions > Network > "See all apps with this permission" > and nothing (in allowed or not-allowed) pertaining to updates was seen.

Do you have any information where to edit "removed network permission from the system update service"?

      Thanks.
