  • Pixel 9 / charging cable issues

Hi,
Got Pixel 9, installed GrapheneOS (love it) and everything was working fine. Used charging cable (have 2 same cables, one spare new) for a while, and then after some time (week or so), it won't charge. States cable connected but not charging. So took out new same cable , same results. Tried on several other phones both cables work.
So, I bought a new cable, different brand and it works fine.
Wondering, howcome old cable worked and now does not work? Is there some security issues or that cable somehow has been blocked by GrapheneOS?
Very odd!

Just discovered it will charge when phone is off with cable which does not charge when phone is on. Strange!

kult it seems like a bug with the USB C security setting, but it makes little sense that only specific cables would be affected.

Indeed, very odd! Took my old USB C cable from my relative and it works haha. Have no idea why other cables stopped working but now I will have to buy extra cables for car and work :)

kult have you tried playing around with the USB-C settings? I would try to set USB-C to "On" (or "Off" and enable it afterwards) to see what happens.

Yes, music plays no problem. I tried all USB settings, one by one, and rebooted phone after each, then entered pin and so on. Very strange it charges on "not working cables" when phone is off!
