  • what is the deal with people wanting to have IOS things on graphene?

I could understand that people would want to have pixel stock features in graphene.. but i keep seeing post that people wishing to bring ios features, or make graphene os eye candy or whatever.
graphene is not the rom for that. is a privacy oriented/ security oriented rom, run by voluntary mods. for very niche people. they will never release a device, a rom a la samsung or google or apple.

i admit that the gestures and mimics and other stuff of stock roms are fancy, eye candy, user friendly.. but that comes at the cost of privacy and security.

People like what they're familiar with. For iOS users, that's iOS features.

Obligatory "its not a ROM" comment.

but that comes at the cost of privacy and security.

Doesn't particularly have to, if done right. Which is the actual problem, since doing it right takes time and resources that the team most likely won't most of the time.

m4ri0g iOS has some privacy features that GrapheneOS is missing, would be nice if they were added to GOS or maybe upstream. I don’t want GOS to copy the design or anything of iOS just things that are objectively functional privacy/security features

fria what privacy features does iOS have that grapheneos doesn't?

fria why doesnt wallpaper fingerprinting work on iOS?

heather iOS doesn’t have Material You. It’s the thing that lets apps color themselves based on your wallpaper.
