skepy I assume it's the same for many Google apps now. Messages shows the same behavior when there's no Play Services installed. Try installing Play Services in the same user profile and reinstall the dialer.

I guess that's part of the answer why it crashes. Is this happening in the owner profile? Do you have the dialer installed in any other profiles?

        a month later

This has also been happening to me, although it started while still on the Android 14 version of Graphene. Google Dialer crashes immediately when I try to open it. Going to the app settings and deleting all app data fixes the problem for a day or two. Play services is installed, and Google Messages works just fine..

          a month later

For the last month or so, I've been forced to use the Graphene Dialer, which is fine but lacks some features of Google Dialer. Am really hoping a fix is discovered for this.

          2 months later

It only crashes when I try to click on visual voicemail and hit play on a VM. Funny thing is that it was working for a bit, then full stop. I can still call and do most stuff, but not that.

I have Google dialer working; however, the carrier could be a factor. I have AT&T. I have carrier services installed along with the Google app. I allowed the relevant permissions for calls, including Network, Contacts, Call Logs, and Phone for both the dialer and Google. Try restarting the device after doing the install and setting the permissions. If you're still having an issue, try clearing the data for the dialer, checking the permissions again (since they'll reset at times), and restarting the phone. You might also have to enable read device identifier within permissions for via ADB for Play Services.
