Hey everyone!

Does anyone use their main profile on a secondary user profile? I heard that is a good practice because you can "end session" and basically put your main profile at a pre unlocked state instead of restarting the entire phone. Just wanted to see if anyone was doing this!

Thanks!

I do. The only thing I don't like about it is if I need to change some settings, I have to switch to the owner profile to do so. Despite that one annoyance I still prefer it.

unwat thank you for the response! What are some settings you have to change?

The settings that I usually find myself switching over to change are:

        • wifi settings - some settings can only be done by owner, but connecting can be done by any user
        • cellular data settings - sometimes my data doesn't connect, so I have to toggle that on in owner
        • profile settings - I find myself messing with profiles from time to time, which can only be done by owner
        • development tools

Given that it's a highly recommended security practice that no one should do "routine" work in the Admin role/workspace, what OP suggests makes sense.

mucr This may be a silly question but with a privacy and security focused OS like GrapheneOS does it matter if one does routine work in the admin profile compared to google android stock or ios?

[deleted] I am new to GOS, = not informed enough to answer more than a guess, however, I know from experience it's a huge issue on MSWin-based OS's.

mucr okay that makes sense. I have done with windows before. Thank you for your input!
