On Android, Firefox has implemented a multi-process architecture since 2021; however, this is still severely limited, and no sandboxing is enabled. Whereas Chromium uses the isolatedProcess
feature, along with a more restrictive seccomp-bpf filter.
You're free to use Gecko-based browsers at the end of the day; it's your phone. But you've been warned 🙂.
If you're looking for security, Vanadium is the best browser you can use. If you want a balance of privacy and security, Brave is a good option with its native ad-blocking and fingerprinting mitigations. Generally speaking, Chromium-based browsers are leagues ahead of Gecko-based browsers in terms of security and fingerprinting.
