Hello,
My phone is a Pixel 7 running Android 14, when I call people, my number shows up as 'No Caller ID" when I call them.
I reside in Canada, and my SIM card comes from Bell.

I was able to fix this issue by typing the code "*31#" before the phone number, but this was supposed to be more of a temporary fix, as it is sort-of annoying to do and doesn't fix the root cause of the issue, and makes every other app not recognize my contacts, so any calls or texts I get show up as the actual number instead of the contact name.

I am unsure if the phone app itself plays a part, but if so, I use "Fossify" Phone (Fork of "SimpleMobileTools" Phone as that was sold, and the GrapheneOS install didn't come with a phone app as far as I remember) I didn't see any option in the phone app settings for this issue, and "SimpleMobileTools" phone did not have this issue on an older phone running regular Android, so I assume it is a GrapheneOS issue?

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you!

yore Thank you for your response, however unfortunately I am not using the default Phone app as it did not come with my install, and as far as I am aware, the Phone app I currently use does not have that functionality.
I have some secondary accounts on my device that DID come with the default Phone app, however, do you suggest I use ADB to transfer the default Phone app to the main account and then do what you suggest?
I was under the impression that this is an issue with GrapheneOS itself, but I guess it's an issue with the Phone app? Odd, because I remember it working on regular Android with my old phone (same (original) app).

Ojao It's not an issue with either GrapheneOS or the phone number but rather with your carrier.

How come? Is your phone still supported?

Ojao but I guess it's an issue with the Phone app?

Perhaps. You can try using a modern phone app like Google Dialer to see if that is indeed the problem or not.

In any case, it isn't a problem with GrapheneOS itself. I would check with your carrier settings.

          yore

yore How come? Is your phone still supported?

Yes, the Pixel 7 is supported by GrapheneOS. I don't know why it didn't come with the default phone app pre-installed, I verified the install and everything, so maybe it's a bug or something as my secondary accounts come with it pre-installed?

Thanks for your advice, I will try using a different app, I'll see if I can get the default phone app on my owner account somehow.

GrapheneOS Thank you for your response. I just assumed it was an issue with GrapheneOS because the rest of my family (same carrier) do not have this issue. I apologize!

yore Thank you for the information! I was able to install the default phone app and force it to show my number. Odd that my carrier would hide it by default.
            Have a nice day/night!

Ojao Now, keep in mind I installed grapheneOS 2 years ago, so my memory is spotty, but now that I think about it, I don't think it came with most of the default apps like phone, contacts, texts, etc as I don't have any of them installed as of now, and I wouldn't uninstall them.
Going off what I have installed now, it seemed to have only came with a calculator, PDF viewer, and a file manager (along with Auditor and the GrapheneOS app store)
            Weird.

Ojao Glad you were able to solve it!

I have a Pixel 7 Pro and I also installed it 2 years ago, but I had the Phone app. You can't uninstall apps that ship with the OS. Did you disable it at some point by any chance and then forgot about it?

              • Ojao replied to this.

yore I guess it's possible I did, although I don't know why I would've. I'm almost certain it that it just didn't come with some of the apps.

Anyways, thank you for your help!
