(ignore my comment where I said because it's too hard to constantly increase the lowest-supported version through feature support. You just choose the SDK version you want to support; it's really easy. So banks seem to care about running on really old phones.

Franco This doesn't in any way negatively impact GrapheneOS or app compatibility with GrapheneOS. It would be a very good thing if the device integrity level didn't exist and there was only the strong integrity level since apps wouldn't be willing to use it due to reducing compatibility with stock OS devices. The device integrity level which exists entirely to ban using a non-stock OS or non-Google-certified hardware is the problem, not the strong integrity level. There are barely any apps using strong integrity and fewer apps will be willing to use it with a requirement that Android 13 and later devices have the bare minimum security patches backported to older releases from a year earlier. That's still hardly caring about security: up to 1 year without even applying the backported patches is a complete joke, but less of a complete joke than the existing lack of any standard.

SwiftKey keyboard (probably shouldn't use this anyway)
myQ (garage door app)
Nintendo Music
youcut video editor

Is there any way to "Spoof" a response to the requesting app?

We can add the Yuka application, very popular in France, which uses Play Service Integrity and is not compatible with GOS.

On a "regular" Android phone, Yuka stopped working the minute I deleted the Google account from the phone. Same for ChatGPT.

Until now i could bypass the "This app is no longer compatible with your device" error on Play Store by using Aurora, but since today, 2 of my 4 apps that i could only update through Aurora are now instantly redirecting me to the Play Store upon opening them, effectively rendering them unusable.
For reference, those apps are the Official F1 App and eBay, and i strongly suspect that Coinbase will be next.
What angers me is seeing tons of people being able to bypass this whole BS using all kinds of rooted third-party Roms while Graphene is being actively blocked, even being safer and retaining the devices security layers in place.
Is there any solution on sight?

JBolho sporter This is happening to some more apps after some recent changes by Google. There's a planned feature to change apps' installer to Google Play if they have valid Play Store metadata.

Obligatory thing I say when sharing a link to a feature in the issue tracker: please only add a positive reaction to express interest in a feature, and not add posts saying a feature is important. This forum or the chat rooms are for discussion, not the issue tracker.

I've just tried again to get ChatGPT to work (which previously redirected to the play store immediately). Now it says that the Play Integrity check failed.

When I install a tool like Play Integrity API Checker by Nikolas Spiridakis, it returns all fails. Shouldn't the basic integrity pass, at least? Is this a known issue?

GGORG There's likely something broken about your configuration such as disabling Network for the Play Store.

GrapheneOS I do have the Play Store installed and both the store and services have network allowed. I am not logged into a Google account though, and would like to avoid doing that at all cost.
