As far as I know, there is also a setting in microG to prevent this query.
I am not an expert on this, but if there is a MicroG option to suppress something, that would be consistent with apps accidentally making a request.

MicroG is a framework used by some AOSP variants to provide some Google Play services without being able to install Google Play. It is not used on GrapheneOS because GrapheneOS can install Google Play.

Maybe... but unless every calendar application that can synch to a Google calendar exhibits the behavior of repeatedly requesting access, the issue may be in the calendar app. Part of the problem may be that most users very much want that synchronization.
Can you ask the aCalendar developer for more information about the MicroG setting? That might be helpful.
