Well, it looks like it is some sort of Google or carrier issue. I've done pretty much all I can, and it just still says, "setting up..." As I said, even on the legitimate play store for the messages at reviews, people are saying RCS is completely fucked. This says to me that Google is going to have to address it because if even regular stock users on stock Android phones are getting screwed, I don't see how they can not do anything. Especially considering the Pixel 10 series just came out, they are going to want to get it working, considering it is one of the features they tried to push as a selling point.
At this point, I'm just worried about now Google and carriers basically, ping ponging responsibility back and forth saying, no, it's Google. No, it's Verizon. No, it's Google. No, it's Verizon. ETC, ETC, ETC. I would not put that past either of them at this point, and that means it's not good for us. Also, the fact that they are pushing some or all of the responsibility for RCS onto the carriers tells me that Google may be starting to just say, screw it for RCS and give up support. Would be a real shame considering that we finally had some parity with iMessage. I mean, I suggest everyone goes on signal or telegram or WhatsApp anyway, but you can't really force your friends to do that. And you certainly can't force work to do that

I hope it doesn't turn into where we all have to start putting pressure on Google and the carriers on social media and stuff, but it may come to that. đ Another time when one of the few features I actually want and need gets screwed.
