Security and portability I would say.
Pixel tablet as a daily driver?
It depends a lot on the use you are going to make of it. In my case much of the use I give it is for leisure with the web browser, so I'm more than happy with the security, portability and autonomy that offers me the pixel tablet.
Android has plenty of software, but it is obvious that for specific things a windows/linux computer will always be one step ahead, it depends on the needs of each one.
For work I have my computer provided by the company with windows 11 and all the microsoft environment, both worlds are totally separate.
mogacy-nadproza0m To me personally, using a Pixel Tablet with GOS is all about security.
The only real alternative in terms of security is an iPad which does offer a better user experience, but GOS still seems like a better choice for security.
An iPad Mini 6 is my daily driver right now, but I'll be switching over to the Pixel Tablet as of tomorrow. Really looking forward to getting my privacy back. I'll use it for a month then do a writeup.
r3tr0 no problem! Well, I have to say that for me, the dock is currently a paperweight. The tablet+dock shipped from Germany and the PSU plug did not have a UK plug pinout. So I managed to fry either my 2-pin adapter or the PSU itself: not sure which until I test further. "No problem" I thought, I'll just order a replacement online - can't find one! I have a ticket open with Google at the moment... also, the barrel adapter seems to be unique to Google, so the 24v 1.2A PSU I bought with ten adapters doesn't fit!
Other than that, the tablet seems good and the speed and battery life with the GoogleBloat are noticeably better. I'll report back later!
I'm also thinking about buying a pixel tablet. My main use case is watching NSFW videos. Can anyone report any experiences with this? Which Open Source Apps do you recommend (expect Jellyfin which I already love and use)
I want my NSFW consumption to be completely private, so I was thinking about GrapheneOS.
The normal phone display is too small for me
