When I'm making an outgoing call, while waiting for the other party to pick up, instead of hearing a traditional ringing sound in the earpiece/speaker of my smartphone while the other party's phone is still ringing, I hear a beeping type sound. Not a huge deal, but is it possible for me to alter that so I hear the traditional ringing sound?

dln949 Hello dln949, I'm not sure if this is the case with all carriers, but I know with Verizon when you place a call and the recipient's phone beeps in your ear, that is an indication that they are on the other line. If I'm not mistaken, it's a slightly longer ring with a beep at the end of it. (Call waiting).
Also depending on their setup, your call may go straight to voicemail if the recipient is on the phone.
commodore64 In my case, the other person was not using the phone at all. (I know because we were both in the same room!) What I was hearing was not a busy signal, the other phone did ring.
