I need multiple Instagram installations (like 30) on my phone. Before i worked with "Appcloner" but they now charge about 1000$ per year to clone Instagram :D . Now i want to change to graphene and it works ok so far. Some issues:

  1. Do i really have to make a new user profile for each Instagram installation? Or is there any other way of having multiple instagram accounts?

  2. Do i have to use the Instagram App from Playstore or can i somehow use it without Play Store?

  3. Do i need to have different Playstore Logins (GMail Accounts) or can i always use the same playstore?

  4. Only on 30% of the User Profiles i can install Instagram. On the other 70% its giving me an error "Can´t install Instagram. Try again, and if it still doesnt work, see common ways to fix that problem". When i click there, it shows me a help page from google but all the tips from there didnt work (restart phone, update playstore etc etc)

    Can anyone help me here?

      Dasdave91 I can't talk from experience, but here's what I'd look into:

      1. Profiles have better sandboxing, but Shelter is an app often recommended here that could do the trick for your use case.

      2. You can use Aurora Store or find the APK online, but Google Play Store will be the safest approach.

      3. Once installed, you "clone" the app, so no need to have many stores installed. You can push installed apps to user profiles, so you only need one Instagram installation in the owner profile. I never used shelter but I assume it works similarly.

      4. That's probably because you tried to install a different version (or from a different source)? Across profiles you need to install the same version of the app, but as mentioned you can simply push Instagram to the user profiles in your "manage users" setting on the owner profile.

      Hope that helps.

IMHO and to me, that is an instant red flag. However, to each their own.

#1: You'd need to add multiple secondary profiles in order to have multiple isolated instances of an app. See https://grapheneos.org/features#install-available-apps

... have to make a new user profile for each Instagram installation?

GrapheneOS is free! You're welcome to put in the effort and work to add secondary profiles for free or pay for some third-party app provider to do it for you?

Do I really have to ...

#2: To get a better scope, see (and read)

#4: Have you tried using only one secondary profile at a time (not being logged into other profiles) while attempting to do whatever it is you're trying to do?

Regardless, Instagram developers have mechanisms in place to prevent scams/fraudulent accounts used to upvote and/or engage with one another, etc., w/e.

Feel free to read through our documentation and posts linked above to try and figure out how to accomplish your objective. Moving forward, as I mentioned earlier, this is an instant red flag for me ... Thus we will not be able to provide any further support, as you are in clear violation of IG's terms.
