I've installed Fossify voice recorder but I can set up a folder to store records only under /Android/obb , how can I switch It ? I've looked into permissions but there isn't anything about folder access

In the settings under General, there's a "Save recordings in" option. For me this is set to Internal/Music/Recordings which as far as I remember I didn't set, so its most likely default. I'm not sure how its only letting you save to /obb folder.

Additional note: folder access is only required for apps that need to open files. In this case, the Fossify Recorder only saves files and therefore doesn't need permissions.

Dumdum I've already found the setting to choose the path, but available folders don't include the one I would like to save files in, I can see only a restricted amount of folders.

Thanks for the clarification about permissions, but I think Recorded could play files too, so It reads them.

I've just checked that setting and I see what you mean. Only the Android folder is actually available (although there's also "data" and "media" subfolders, not just "obb"). A quick look at the Voice Recorder github shows this is apparently an issue with GrapheneOS. Very strange.

Yes. For recordings it creates. Apps can always access files that they create, but they need permissions for files they haven't created hence the app not needing permissions. I should have specified that before.

Dumdum Really thanks for pointing me out that issue

It seems this issue concerns all fossify apps. For example, I similarly can't choose folder for back up files in fossify calendar
