Twice already in the last hour my phone has just instantly shut down/crashed while using it. First time was from lock screen, second while using browser.
Instant black screen, not even powering off message.
I hold the power button and it reboots.
Any known issues?

Someguyuphere Unfortunately that sounds as if it might be a hardware failure. It would be prudent to save important data as soon as possible.

Though this would obviously be very disruptive, you could differentiate between hardware and software by (after backing up your data) flashing the device back to Google's stock OS to see if it continues to suddenly power down.

As a possible intermediate step, you could investigate a potential corruption of your user data by trying out a "factory reset" (which would permanently wipe all of your data). Was the device recently run down to 0% battery?

      Thanks for reply.
I also was worried about a hardware issue.
I started by backing up data, and I did have the storage almost full with pics, vids, and I thought I would see how it went after deleting almost all after transfer

I think it might have been just too much on storage.
I haven't had an issue since. Might be coincidence, but I'll take the win.

Someguyuphere That is a surprising outcome, but it sounds like good news. Thanks for taking the time to report back!

Someguyuphere Quantity of storage doesn't explain that behavior, so its probably a coincidence. That kind of a sudden shutdown sounds like it could be tied to a failing battery. This would make it more likely to happen while the screen is on high brightness, you're using the CPU heavily, high network usage, etc.

Pixel 6 is getting to be old enough for some to be experiencing deteriorating batteries by now.

        did you have other faults?

yesterday I had same issue during navigation (Firefox).

I'm wondering if it could be possible to do an hardware test like the PC (storage, ram, video, motherboard, ext...)
