hdishs Does anyone know of a matrix server where I can register without using email, I don't like using email, I would prefer not to use it at all, is there a reliable matrix server that does not require registration by email?
Dumdum hdishs Does anyone know of a matrix server where I can register without using email, Um, you don't need to use an email to sign up. It's optional, and is only used for email alerts/contact if users wanted.
hdishs A technical question, does anyone know if Matrix has end-to-end encryption or only with the server? If it has end-to-end encryption, how can it be used from the web browser? I assume that the owner of the server has access to all metadata that is not end-to-end encrypted
hdishs Dumdum That information is not correct, try creating the account without the email it tells you that you need to fill out that field
[deleted] hdishs I don't know what it's like on Reddit today but they used to require an email if one was signing up on mobile, desktop didn't have the email requirement. Maybe Matrix is the same?
Dumdum hdishs Strange, must have changed it or my memory isn't helping me much. Still, just use an alias service like Addy.io/SimpleLogin, or one of those one-time email throwaway things that people use for account/newsletter registrations if email is a concern to you.
leafnose I guess I cannot edit a liked message... funny. Some more: https://matrixclient.cutefunny.art/#/register https://web.sakura.ci/#/register Two sources: https://servers.joinmatrix.org/ https://tatsumoto-ren.github.io/blog/list-of-matrix-servers.html#recommendations I've no info regarding uptime of those servers. AFAIK, the one linked on my first message is reliable.
Dumdum leafnose I guess I cannot edit a liked message... funny. Not sure about messages being liked, but it's time-based either way.
