After update, owner account network access broken, secondary still working

Graphene has been 95% of what I need for a daily driver, and an excellent experience so far. Far better after finding the forums here. That said, I've run into something here now that's stumped me and I'm hoping for some help.

Took a reboot today to get the update. Immediately following the update, I find:

Owner account cannot access Internet via any browser. Internet addresses accessed via my DNS name result in "This site can't be reached" / "ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED" errors on Vanadium and Brave.
Access to http/https resources on the local LAN give me "Your Internet access is blocked / Firewall or antivirus software may have blocked the connection." / "ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED".
Behavior is the same whether 5G connected or WiFi connected.
About phone -> IP address = "unavailable", however I can see the phone has a DHCP address and ping it from a laptop on the LAN.
OpenVPN client connects to my remote test site and passes traffic (I do not have access set up to test HTTP(S) outgoing from this).

More odd that all of this is the fact that the limited access user I have configured for anything required the spoofed Framework still has all network access, is able to do DNS lookups, etc.

I've already reset all APNs, as well as disabled Private DNS. Phone is a Pixel 6. Carrier is T-Mobile. Not sure where to go next in terms of troubleshooting, and worried that this occurred immediately after reboot from update. I will attempt any suggestions ASAP.

When you say reset APN what specifically did you do to reset them?

Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Access Point Names > Reset to default

I have not reset all networks and Bluetooth (Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth) or any other settings.

Do this and report back, inconvenient as it is, it has been known to resolve issues.

MetropleX Success! Sorry, I could have easily done that but between it affecting both 5G and WiFi, and years of Sprint telling me to do that and it producing no results, I just didn't bother.

Shared the several dozen WiFi creds with the work phone and reset, and immediately received a weekend's worth of notifications.

I had network issues after a recent update with both 4G and WiFi... Reboot didn't help BUT power down did help! 😼

I'm on Pixel 4

Same Problem here on a fresh installation of GrapheneOS.
After every reboot the network (4G and Wi-Fi) isn't working anymore. I have to reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth all the time. Then it works, but it's not a very pleasant circumstance.
Also the second User on the phone can access the internet normally all the time. The main user has no internet connection after reboot. But when I activate my Wireguard VPN from Wi-Fi with my main user, the internet is working. When I shut down the VPN, it doesn't work anymore. Then I have to reset the Settings Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
I also deleted the second user and rebooted the phone. But also this didn't help. Same problem with the main user.

Can someone help please?

What type of SIM are you using?
Do you have LTE Only mode on?
Mobile Data Toggled On?
APN list still populated on reboot?
Using a VPN or DNS provider?
How is it configured?
Have you had problems with WiFi since flashing GrapheneOS?
Does your router have issues with mac randomisation and generating IPs?
Is Data Saver toggled on?

Also any further info on how you are configured will be helpful.

thank you for your answer.

I'm using a normal nano SIM Card. No e-SIM.
No LTE only mode!
Mobile Data is activated and works fine if there was no reset of network settings.
APNs are visible after reboot.
No VPN or DNS provider. Just normal Internet connection.
I flashed GrapheneOS a couple days ago. Problems began after first reboot. Also Wi-Fi and mobile data are affected. There is no difference. After reboot I have to reset Network settings to get a connection to the Internet.
My Router has no Problem. And normally I use the device mac to get the same IP every time. That works fine.
What do you mean with data server toggled on?

It has to be a General Problem of connectivity I think. Nothing specific to Wi-Fi or mobile data, because both oft them don't work after reboot.
When I try to open some pages in brave Browser there is an error like failed_dns_probe or something like this. I have to take a look again.
I also changed the local DNS oft my home network, but nothing...
I also tried static IP with cloudflare DNS. Nothing!
I played around with the private DNS Option. Nothing helped.
The only thing that helps is to reset the network settings. But after restart I have the same Problem again.

schraepfert going back to your original post where you mention the network only working when connecting to your VPN I believe you may have set the 'Block all connections' when VPN isn't connected. The fact that your second profile worked but owner didn't unless VPN connected. Everytime you reset the network settings it likely removed or turned off the toggle.

Oh man that was the clue I searched for. Thanks a lot!
Wireguard automatically activated the option in system settings to block traffic without VPN. I deactivated it, restarted and it worked fine.
Seems to be a bit different to normal Android. There it didn't activate this option by itself.

But OK, good to know.
