  • IMEI is the thing to focus on for google derived device?

So as the title asks - the best thing to focus on to know if the pixel is from googles factory rather than a carrier variant is the IMEI number…

If so what are the most reliable sources (sites I would guess) to see accurate information from the IMEI number regarding if it’s…

From the google factory or a carrier? Ty much again.

Sporeondeloreon Based on the need of the devices to have Internet access to "phone home" when first unboxed, it seems very likely that Google maintains a database mapping from serial number or IMEI to carrier number (or zero for a non-carrier device). That does not mean that we have access to the data.

Some here have suggested using SKUs, which may work. But I am unaware of a list.

de0u so I’d guess the next best thing to do would be to contact google themselves with the sku and or IMEIand hear from them?

I have limited experience with Google tech support, but I think they mostly want to support phones sold by their store and want other sellers (carriers, electronics shops) to support the phones they have sold.

I suspect they may not want to receive inquiries about individual IMEIs.

Can you say what problem you are trying to solve? For example, maybe you want to know how best to buy a new unlockable 7a in Belgium? That might be a lot easier than a very general question.
