Hello everyone!
Brand new here! Just insatlled Graphene last night and been fooling around with it a bit! On SMS messaging, on this Pixel 7 phone, I see that much more often many mispellings occur ( not because I intentionally mispell) because of the keyboard. Is there maybe a better SMS messaging app that I can use? Thanks!

You might find that the keyboard misspellings are due to the default keyboard app, rather than the default SMS app.

Do you get the same misspelling experience in other apps?

If you search around on the forum, you'll find some good threads about alternate keyboards or SMS apps to meet your needs.

zzz Thanks for the reply. I havn't experineced any other app yet so I can't yet answer that question.

Dumdum Thanks! Should I download this onto my phone? Double click on those links? How do I try this? (Sorry) I'm responding from a laptop

Have you set the correct language for the spell checker?
        Settings> System>Keyboard > Spell checker> Languages.

If the spell checker is important to you, you can - as already suggested here - also install another keyboard - this may come with a different (possibly better) spell checker, which you can then activate under Settings> System>Keyboard > Spell checker> Default spell checker.

On your phone, click on the .apk file under Assets to download it, then open the apk file on your phone (you can either click open on the notification that pops up, or you should find it in your downloads) and it will prompt you to install the app. A screen will show that asks for permission to install unknown apps, you can allow this and then disable the permission again after the app is installed for security purposes.

Also to note, if you download apps this way, you won't get auto updates or anything like you would with Fdroid. Instead, you can use something like Obtainium which you install the same way as above. To use Obtainium, you'll need to copy/paste the URL for the Releases page of the app (e.g. the link I provided in my previous comment) on the Add App tab at the bottom of Obtainium.

Obtainium is easier to use than it might initially seem, but if its not convenient enough then you can go ahead with Fdroid which can just be installed by clicking the Download button on Fdroid's website.

Dumdum Ok SO I had some time here to relax a bit and try to follow your suggestions here as well as Murcielago, but I'm lost. Firstly, Murcielago, I tried searching my phone at that directory and it seems like the proper language is indeed set. But I don't seem to have many other options.

Dumdum, so also, I searched for the.apk directory and assets as a keyword and can't find either directory. Would you be able to provide maybe a more step by step instruction on how to get there? Please remember I am completely new to this. I downloaded Obtainium from F- Droid but all that shows is a blank screen with a text titled APPS and nothing more. Not sure what to do on this screen. Thank you!
