Some of the apps (Telegram, Signal, Brave, Wireguard, OpenVPN, etc) come in two installation options - as an APK directly downloadable from the website and one downloadable from Play Store (I use Aurora Store).
Is there any difference from a security/privacy standpoint, and which way of installing do you prefer?
I suppose PlayStore does some extra security checks?
