Can anyone recommend a secure note making app?
akc3n ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I managed to get what I wanted by forking a theme that were close to my needs and made adjustments to it so now I finally got it the way I wanted the theme. Its pitch black with white text and a little bit touch of blue. I never have messed around before with making adjustment to a theme so I only got it to work with the Android app :)
I have been struggling with ‘notes apps’ for ages. They’re always missing something. I have tried millions of them.
I have decided to use a Cryptomator vault, and store notes in that. That way I can use whatever app I want - even multiple apps.
I have been stressing for yonks about it. I feel quite content with my decision! And I am not remotely locked in, except to Cryptomator.
When it comes to secure note-taking apps, you might want to consider a few options. Evernote is a solid choice, known for its versatility and strong security measures.
It allows you to organize your notes neatly with tags and notebooks, making it easy to find what you need. Another option is Microsoft OneNote, which integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft products if you're already using them. It's user-friendly and offers a similar level of security. Both apps have free versions, so you can try them out and see which one suits your needs best.

Jalertashka Microsoft OneNote
In the world of free and open-source note-making/taking apps, the two suggested above I personally never use again.
Just my humble opinion... 🤨
PMUSR Yes, the app Notes - iOS Notepad, Checklist has dark theme and I chosed it a few weeks ago - after getting warned about a lot of notes apps that spread my data in all directions.
This app doesn't track anything.
It also has more options for appearence than "Standard notes", as list view and bold titles.
I would recommend it and am happy with it so far with no need to get premium.

Roger Same does it for me. Rest is pen and paper.
I like Standard Notes, but ended up subscribing to a different service because I couldn't get comfortable with the Android app's UI – it was something as silly as finding the editor buttons to be too tiny for my fingers. I constantly pressed the wrong ones. And 90% of my note taking is done on Android. A user suggested that I could make my own custom theme and increase button sizes that way, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. If someone knows how to do it, I'd appreciate a ping. 😊 I filed a feature request with Standard Notes.
I appreciate that they support security keys. Although I wish they'd do a Bitwarden and offer that option to users of the free version as well.
To be fair, Standard Notes has a very generous refund policy. I subscribed to the most expensive plan and asked for a refund within the limit of three months, and was quickly given a full refund, without even being deducted for the two months I had spent using their service. Very happy with that.
