The causality is not yet clear to me. Let's say a thief snatches a phone and finds it won't turn off without a password. If the thief came prepared with a Faraday bag (they're cheap), the won't-turn-off part won't help. If the thief just jams the phone into a regular backpack and leaves, what happens next?
Based on your experience in the nightlife / entertainment industry, are there lots of examples of people chasing down Samsung thieves and getting their phones back because the phones are still on, whereas iPhones and Pixels are reliably gone with the wind?
