My Graphene OS phone suddenly says my proton email does not exist. My VPN is connected to the email too....it doesn't work either

Could you maybe describe the error/problem occurring in more detail? For me it's not clear what you're exactly talking about. Giving more informations probably lead to a more efficient help here.
You could for example give informations about:
- where/how does GrapheneOS "say" your email doesn't exist?
- which phone, which software versions, etc. are you using?
- was there perhaps an event before "phone suddenly says" that you remember what helps to understand the cause?
Since the problem is only vaguely described, let's try: Are you perhaps logged out of your Proton account or is there a problem with your login to Proton as described by raccoondad .
(Side note: Proton VPN has received an update yesterday, Proton Mail last update is from October 2023.)

Proton Mail's most recent update was on 01/23/24. The Proton VPN update you referenced was on 01/19/24 but was not uploaded onto the app's GitHub page until yesterday.

thanks for the correction - I based myself on the date of the linked Github releases.
Murcielago For whatever reason, those are always behind in terms of release date.
In my frenzy of trying to figure things out.....I uninstalled Proton mail and Droid-ify. The droidify app would not let me download Any OF THE EMAIL APPS...STRANGE...It would only download other types of apps..
I installed the App Store F-Droid, eninstalled Proton Mail....Success... I was able to log back into my email.
During all this, I disabled remote attestation verification on the phone that was giving me the problem. Now I want to reinstate. I am now unable to log into my Auditor account from main phone to enable remote verifiaction on secondary phone (the one with the email issue). Do I need to clear the Auditor and Auditee pairing and start all over again. A little confused why my log in button on main phone will not respond to my touch when my complaint had nothing to do with the main phone in the first place
