Hey guys I have a pixel 5 and installed graphene it works so nicely and i have the peace of mind that i am safe.

But if you look into the browser world you can see that all chrome and it is not good at all. Collecting your browser history even in incognito mode.

I like the approach of vanadium simple just compiled chromium and just browser nothing else no shady stuff with graphene level security.

I have people including me with other branded devices which does not support graphene os.

So just like Graphene OS camera app can we have Vanadium in playstore to give all same peace of mind.

Although i know Bromite is there but due to it is not in playstore it is hard to update the browser and even fdroid client also does not auto update.

Most don't know how to either so having it on playstore makes sense though playstore is not right for downloading apps it is what it is.

So it is a kind request can you guys make vanadium available in playstore if possible by any chance. Thanks a lot. Really like this project.

MetropleX changed the title to Can we have vanadium in playstore? .

Answers for this request thus far are:

We have no plans to release Vanadium on the Play Store. It also currently uses the http://org.chromium.chrome app id since it's the direct continuation of our unbranded Chromium builds which have gradually had privacy and security improvements added and continue to be improved.

.

It's still far from being at the point where we would want to release it as a standalone app. We also need to improve the original-package feature so we can rename it from org.chromium.chrome to app.vanadium.browser. original-package feature is currently not complete enough

MetropleX i am not a dev though but i really think we should have vanadium in playstore and by using this app more people will know about graphene os and maybe try to switch and as i have told it is really needed to have vanadium as i use it on my pixel i never see anything so good as a browser like that so simple yes bromite is also but bromite is hard to update. You have to download apk then flash that. I really wish this should be in store for using it just like camera app.
Please all devs make this project slightly more priority and try to make it available in store thanks for your reply and i will request you to look into it.

They've explained why it isn't. Multiple times.

yes bromite is also but bromite is hard to update.

      It has automatic updates.

You have to download apk then flash that.

      What?

I really wish this should be in store for using it just like camera app.

Secure browsing is not solved by a single browser install. It doesn't matter what it is. Tor browser, maybe, but even then.. Slim.

Either use Bromite enough to learn that it has automatic updates, or wait patiently for the devs to neuter Vanadium enough to offer it on the playstore.

      There's a reason Bromite isn't there, also.

Please all devs make this project slightly more priority and try to make it available in store thanks for your reply and i will request you to look into it.

My request is to cancel out this dudes request.

      MetropleX locked the discussion .

This thread will be locked until there is any further official update regards to if or when this may happen, that or to limit responses to any devs who wish to provide further information.

graph101 Hi there and welcome to our discussion forum.
I take it English may not be your first language. I can relate to that from my past experiences and trying to express my thoughts was quite difficult. So, I'd like to thank you for your input and feedback. We do appreciate it.

Please all devs make this project slightly more priority and try to make it available in store thanks for your reply and i will request you to look into it.

The developers are hard at work all the time and hopefully in the future this may become a reality.

I hope that both this and MetropleX answer now solve your concerns.

And please don't worry about any thing else in this thread as I personally found some responses a tad bit rude. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

      Have a nice day :-)
