missing-root Good stuff! I think it will make sense though, I mostly want the security and privacy features the most, but the ability to make it as minimalist as possible is a mandatory to make the switch finally.
Seems like there are multiple viable options to try out, with my main concern being browser access even with NextDNS which can be turned off easily, but seems like I can try disabling it first and doing user profile and if it doesn't work just completely remove it with ADB as a last resort.
The end goal is just have my photos, auto upload those to my self-hosted nextcloud instance, listen to my self-hosted music with navidrome, use organic maps to navigate, Nextcloud for travel documents from my Linux computer, and Signal for text and calls. That's all I want out of a phone without it trying to suck out all of my precious time and personal data and attempt to change my way of thinking in ways I can't even comprehend with curated algorithms, fake clickbait bullshit news headlines optimized for clicks and outrage, ads being target to make me buy absolute nonsense and pushing me in a direction with an agenda attached to it.
Will give it a go and finally be weaned off of Apple products / social media / news nonsense etc. Been 2 years in the making but a well worthy journey! Feel like I'm getting my damn time and thinking back again while I feel like most of society doesn't even bat an eye at their 8 hours a day screen time while live streaming their eggs benedict and then go slack jawed the rest of their brunch watching TikTok dances then they ask ChatGPT why they don't have any real connections in their life.
Appreciate it!
