Hello everyone,
My old phone, Huawei P30, has become practically unusable. Also I have a lot of privacy and security concerns regarding that company. A year and a half ago I found the GrapheneOS project. I want to try it since but don't know which phone to pick.
I don't use my device for anything performance intensive and I rarely take photos. I browse the web and chat. I'm looking for something on a budget with long lasting battery life and security updates for a couple of years. I also don't mind buying second hand.
I think the best fit for my needs would be either the Pixel 6a or Pixel 6. What major problems do you experience with these phones and which one should I get?
Thanks!

rm1cd recommend the Pixel 6a, just migrated from a Pixel 4a and had a night and day experience change.

Best phone for the budget and the prolonged 5 year support window which means over that period it will prove the most cost effective purchase with a better ROI.

Hulk Thanks for the reply! I have read the documentation and the FAQ page. I just wanted to reach out to the community for issues and personal experience with the phones.

The Pixel phones are not officialy available in my country. They are only on some sketchy websites. It appears my only options are buying it online from another country and getting it second hand. I prefer to get it new, so the former it is, but is it really worth it to go for that and reveal a lot of personal information to the provider, or am I going to be fine using an iPhone that I bought with cash? I don't mind the latter as I think that iPhones are reasonably private and secure for my needs.

I know nothing about your needs, but an iPhone might be secure but certainly not private.
