Niagara Launcher: it respects privacy too, according to their policy.

DeletedUser88 It's an AOSP feature and has been supported in GrapheneOS development builds enabling the Android 15 feature flags for months already. We already added Private Space integration for our sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer, Contact Scopes and Storage Scopes before the official Android 15 source code release this month.
de0u Apologies, thats not what i meant.
I'm not a native english speaker, and didn't took my english dictionary with me when i wrote that text.
Hence why i said "If this guarantee can even be given...". Because i know my question wasn't formatted 'correctly' in english.
Nevertheless, i think my point was clear that i didn't expect a payout from Grapheneos if it wasn't.43t34fg4 I kinda get that, but to me, GOS is for more than just someone interested in privacy. It's more-so for enthusiasts and more extreme people interested in extreme privacy.
It's fine for some extreme users to be interested in extreme privacy, but it's also fine for some less-extreme users to be interested in less-extreme privacy. We're not all the same, but we can still cooperate.
You have to pay Infinity to log into reddit via Infinity because of Reddit's costly API restrictions. If you don't log in, and use a VPN/tor, then the main way they can track your activity on reddit is by tracking what content you view, for how long, and stuff like that to build a "fingerprint" based on your unique browsing habits, and then keep an eye out for similar instances that are browsing their site, and compare and contrast that fingerprint with fingerprints compiled by other sites, which they can purchase through data brokers and etc.
If they can narrow down the list of potential matches enough, they can make a very, very well educated guess as to who you are.
Using a popular (paid and trusted) VPN with that VPN's DNS service or at least a popular DNS can really cut down on their ability to build a fingerprint, because your browsing habits likely somewhat closely match those of other people who use a Pixel running GOS browsing with Infinity via a trusted VPN and DNS, so their ability to fingerprint you gets kinda... muddy.
Privacy is an arms race and its a sliding scale. Doing the above won't make it so they CAN'T "spy" on you... But it will make it quite a bit more difficult. And since they won't get any ad revenue because infinity blocks ads (I think) and most good VPNs also block ads, they're not likely to spend much money on pinpointing your identity when it probably won't do them much good, anyway.
GeorgeSoros what complaints have you heard? Maybe they were related to the Pixel 8a being behind on updates, which was because of how Google initially released them.
After updating to QPR3, I haven't heard of any issues with the 8a specifically. It should work as well as any other supported device.
If you wait for the 9 series, it will go on sale during the holidays. Or just wait for the Pixel 10, or 11, or 12. I'm sure the Pixel 13 will perform better than the 12. If not, buy the 14.
tijladams Apps like these are fundamentally flawed and useless.
Let's think about this: how is a regular sandboxed and restricted app meant to meaningfully "scan" the system for "trojans"? It's silly.
If that app has requested any highly invasive permissions like accessibility, it is absolutely doing more harm than good, and you should consider removing it.
At best, you'll get false alarms like this, at worse, you're giving an arbitrary app some highly invasive access to your device for really no gain.
If you like to watch TV news then the Digilog TV app is a good FOSS choice.
Hello devs,
I am very thankful for the duress pin feature that just launched. It is obvious that a lot of time and care went into making sure the feature actually work as intended. thanks again for all the hard work.
with that said, i would like to make a suggestion:
the current feature disables the entire phone. this does not give you any plausible deniability. if you are a journalist with damaging information on a particular nation, it would be obvious to an adversary that you deleted evidence.
is it possible for this feature to have more granulated control, allowing you to choose what gets deleted when the duress pin is entered? it would be very helpful if you could select certain users while leaving the admin user untouched.
this would allow you to keep all sensitive information in a particular user, and covertly wipe all that information without making it obvious that you deleted information.
thanks again for all the hard work!!

matchboxbananasynergy I was hoping for a mission impossible style puff of smoke whilst destroying it 🤷♂️
+1 for FUTO, works offline and well.
Sayboard or FUTO Voice
I much prefer FUTO Voice though. Its very good and sometimes even better than Google's voice typing.
They both integrate well with other privacy respecting keyboards like Heliboard.

Search.brave.com works for me on Vanadium, if you want an alternative to google search.
I haven't had any luck using either Startpage or Duckduckgo (I've tried on both Vanadium or Brave browser)razorsedge That appears to be a carrier issue. It's listed a prerelease on our site not because it's buggy but rather because the Pixel 8a still uses Android 14 QPR1 so it's missing all the enhancements in Android 14 QPR2 along with the improvements made in GrapheneOS during March, April and May other than what we backported to the Pixel 8a QPR1 branch. QPR3 should be released in June and the Pixel 8a should move along to that which will bring it up to the latest Android and GrapheneOS features along with resolving issues fixed in QPR2, the May/June monthly releases of QPR2 and QPR3.

Others have recommended FUTO for voice input. https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/3469-keyboard-with-swipeflow/16
It uses OpenAI's Whisper models, doesn't appear to need an internet connection, and supports a handful of languages.
https://gitlab.futo.org/alex/voiceinput#language-supportI can confirm that Commbank app can be set up as tap and pay here in Australia on Graphene os Pixel 7 pro. used this morning. Ta
