  • Ok, I found out what is causing the problem of no printers available/listed. I had loaded and started ProtonVPN from F-droid and as soon I did, i began to have this problem: no Wi-Fi printers. When I removed the VPN via the F-droid store, all of the printers showed up.

I should have known better. I ran in to the same problem on my Linux POP_OS computer. Except, I found that all I had to do is "Disconnect" it on the Linux and it would print fine. That didn't work on GrapheneOS. It had to be totally removed before it would work. Apparently, a VPN typically blocks off the "ports," to other devices including printers.

I had lengthy discussions with ProtonVPN and NordVPN representatives when I ran into the problem on the Linux. Neither company were of any help and didn't seem interested in addressing it on their next update.

Perhaps a VPN is more of a problem than it is worth for non-standard Android OSes. Guess I will just have to risk it with no VPN, unless someone else has overcome this problem.

  • I have tried every method I can think of to get my Epson & HP printers to connect to GrapheneOS with no luck. I installed the manufacturer's apps, etc. It seems that GrapheneOS cannot find either printer on Wi-Fi. It is the only device that has trouble connecting: Windows 10 , Linux, iPhone, iPad all connect and print successfully. Hope you can help.
