  • I don't remember changing permissions for system apps.
I've had no problems after leaving that airport and reenabling wifi... I guess this will remain a mystery for now.

  • Small update here. This started happening after coming into an airport, but not connecting to its wifi. Turning off wifi altogether seems to have fixed the issue.
It's still unexpected that coming into the range of a public wifi would make system ui start crashing, effectively making the phone unusable.

    • My system UI started constantly crashing on my Pixel 5.

Below is the stacktrace. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

      • I regularly receive a notification from GmsCompat with message "Action required in Play Store".
When I click on it, it offers me to install "Google Play Services for AR". I always deny the installation because I have no use for that app. However, it keeps notifying me multiple times a day for the same reason.
It's unclear to me if this is coming from the PlayStore compatibility layer directly, or from some installed app I have on the device.
I'm interested if others have observed the same behavior, whether this is expected and whether there are any work arounds.

        Thank you

PS: It might be useful to have a forum tag for the Google Play compatibility layer
