Privacy and computer security enthusiast. Ideal software are FOSS, minimal and follow a KISS approach. By the way, I use Arch.
GrapheneOS Tor is making their own VPN service app which is what should be used once it's available.
Do you have any source about this? An Orbot alternative made by the Tor Project is something I am looking forward to using.
I used a Nitrokey FIDO2 as a 2FA security key. But, recently I had trouble logging in to some my accounts. So I went back to using TOTP only instead.
I might consider passwordless—passkey as they market it—in a few year, with newer Nitrokeys, when it will be more mature and widespread.
I use Auxio.
Simple, modern (e.g. written in Kotlin, using Material design theme), few permission, fast, FOSS.
My current setup is quite simple: just the Owner profile with Google Play apps installed.
I am considering installing some games from the Play Store. I expect them to be full of trackers. Therefore, after having read the user profiles section, I am wondering if I should isolate them in other profiles.
The question is: regarding the strong sandbox provided by GrapheneOS, does it really make sense to isolate from the Owner profile these privacy-harming apps?
If yes, what would be the main inconvenience (e.g. having an additional password to remember for the secondary profile)?
One more thing: I read this similar topic, but unfortunately, there is not much explanation about the practical threat involved by installing everything in the same user profile.
GrapheneOS Donating Monero helps us pay these developers
I’m happy to know that my donations in Monero serve this purpose. Thank you for the insight 😉

Wonderfall Sorry to revive this topic, but this might help you.
I had a similar problem with one of my drive when attempting to connect it to my Pixel. I just found the reason of the issue and fixed it. I explained it in the dedicated topic.
I fixed it.
I used
fdisk
on Linux to partition the disk in the first place. However, it sets the partition type by default toLinux
. Hence, my exFAT partition was not recognized as such. After changing toHPFS/NTFS/exFAT
type (code07
), it is correctly recognized on my Pixel!Yes, I have the same issue here. Thank you for your feedback
ErnestThornhill Alright. I use a 6a. Don’t know if that affects something.
ErnestThornhill Thanks for the feedback. I cannot understand why only some users are affected 🤔
What Pixel are you using? I guess you are running the latest version of the ProtonVPN app.
In the end, they couldn’t reproduce this on their side. Which makes me think it’s an issue that appears only on GOS.
Someone reported the same behavior on their GitHub, specifically on GOS too.

Carlos-Anso So I used a configuration file from Proton with the official Wireguard app and there was no problem anymore. So the issue seems to be with the ProtonVPN app.
I contacted their support to explain all this. When I have updates from their sides, I will let you know here.
I am also using LibTorrent, and it works seamlessly.
Arch. I mainly use to code and write. Everything else on GrapheneOS.
