  • Oggyo Yes that's exactly it many thanks. I also toggled Aurora's settings - Settings | Updates | Extended Updates. I had intended it for apps that I had installed and then frozen because I only used occasionally or they hog background CPU.

  • Great thanks matchboxbananasynergy.
OK I found a fix. In Aurora I enabled "Filter Google Apps", and the problem has gone away. I'm very grateful for the very helpful community here welcoming a noob😃.

I'm still seeing problem 2 - sandboxed Google Store "update checking" not working on second user profile (I'm not talking about a work profile). Is this something that ought to work, or am I heading in the wrong direction?

    • I feel that manual backups are tricky and time-consuming - as far as I know you have to go to each app one-by-one and it depends on what the app offers. There are also various system settings. So I'd like to explore alternatives.

What does anyone think about using adb for backups? It seems like it could be completely automated in a script.

    • intelligence You should not be updating that.

Great thanks that's useful to know. So in theory I could add SIM Manager to the Aurora "Blacklist", except I can't because it doesn't show up as an installed app. (SIM Manager is com.google.android.euicc which I don't have, but I do have com.google.android.euiccoverlay and a few similar ones).

It's quite confusing: how can an App exist yet not exist? Does anyone else see this or is it only me?

      • I've just installed Graphene on a new phone. Please can you help me with confusion updating Google Apps?

I have Aurora store in my main user account. It reports 1 update available for "SIM Manager", which doesn't appear in my list of all Apps even when I select "Show system". When I try to update I get an error "Existing package signatures don't match newer version". I have updated another package successfully.

I have sandboxed Google Play Store in a separate user account. When I click to show updates it reports "Something Went Wrong, Please Try Again". I can install apps OK.

        Many thanks.

        • I can't see how to mark it as solved and remove the "Pixel 6a" tag.

        • Great thanks - that works. On the minus side, it's one extra gesture, but on the plus side it takes up less space in the panel😃.

A big improvement compared with my old phone is that I don't get the nagging warning box (well only the first time). Many thanks for that.

          • Hi,
I've just started using Graphene and I'm delighted. Still just a few little problems to work out.

In my quick panel (scroll down from top with 2 fingers), I'm missing the icon for toggling mobile data. Even when I click edit, it's not available as a button to add. I have the same problem as in this article.

Is this expected for Graphene? Should I follow the advice in the article, or is there a better way?

            Many thanks
