Very strange, but I am glad to hear the issue you had before is less prevalent now,
My knowledge on networking is not very solid so I'm afraid this is as much help I can offer on the subject, but I hope you, or the other users on the forum are able to shed some light on the root of the problem.

Perhaps you can try to reset Bluetooth, WiFi and mobile connections under settings->system->reset options. (After that you do have to reconnect all network connections)
It can also be an external problem, did you try to turn off mac-randomization? Perhaps the accespoint handles it poorly.
If all else fails, as a last resort you can try a factory reset, and then try to connect to the internet before installing anything else or changing any settings to see of the speed is fine on a fresh install, that would rule out alot.

    • I have a Pixel 7 myself, but I do not have these issues, therefore this issue is not present on all Pixel 7's.

      • I can confirm the Triodos banking app is working well, there is no Play Store installed, my aquintance used Aurora Store in order to download the app instead.

I use the ABN AMRO website with the identifyer hardware myself, which is working fine, I have not and will not install the app.
I have no Play Store installed myself.

      • Done it also.
        Thanks for the info!
My statement on why I consider GrapheneOS important is that it protects dissidents, whistleblowers and journalists in many countries who are using GrapheneOS.

My apologies for the delay, I haven't been on the forum for a while.

        I use the 4-bit (Q4_K_M) Spicyboros 7b from https://huggingface.co/TheBloke/Spicyboros-7B-2.2-GGUF?not-for-all-audiences=true

Also the 4-bit (Q4_K_M) Silicon maid 7b works decent.
        https://huggingface.co/TheBloke/Silicon-Maid-7B-GGUF?not-for-all-audiences=true

Strangely Silicon maid is slow on my Pixel tablet, but Spicyboros is not, and vice versa on the phone wheras Spicyboros is slow but Silicon maid is fast.

I use uncensored models because I don't feel like I want to argue with my phone in order to be able to ask "naughty" questions and get the anwsers for those.

The speed is decent, it is as fast like if a person is typing, it gets the job done, for me it is not an issue.

Indeed, that is my experience also.
For me, the issue was already present on Android 14 for quite a while.
Initially I also rebooted to clear the issue, after that I learned that just putting it in the lockscreen twice and unlocking it again after a few seconds gave me access to the USB drive after reinserting it again.

For me it is not an issue, I just leave it at "charging only when unlocked" and I wouldn't mind if people initially focus on the Android 15 release instead, I think the developers are already busy enough as it is, but I cannot speak for others, I am not sure how pressing the issue is for them.

Also, this is absolutely not a complaint; the work is done for free, (although, giving donations to the GrapheneOS project is totally recommended) therefore I am really greatful for the fact we have such a fantastic Android-based secure operating system, I cannot stress that enough.

I am not sure if it is the same issue, but it happens to me on both Android 14 and 15, therefore I think it is not a Android 15-specific bug, but it did persist on Android 15 as well.
I tested this on a Pixel Tablet and a Pixel 7 both with the same results.

        The issue is as follows:

1: I set the USB profile to "charging-only"
2: I reboot the device completely.
3: After restarting the device I set the USB profile to "charging only when unlocked".
4: I put in a USB drive, the Samsung FIT Plus 256 to be precise, but this bug also happens on other USB drives.
5: It does not recognize the USB drive. (It is not being mounted at all)

        I resolve it as follows:

6: I take out the USB drive from the USB port.
7: I put my device at the lockscreen twice, both for a few seconds.
        8: I unlock my device.
9: I mount the USB drive, it will get recognized.
10: After cycling through USB profiles a second time around this problem does not occur anymore until I do a fresh reboot again.

I use the official Google OTG adapter that was included with the device.

        • Thank you for all the fantastic work! I really appreciate it alot!
Android 15 seems to work fine on my Pixel 7 and Pixel Tablet. (I have no Google Services installed)

Yeah, I thought I knew, but I didn't know much of this stuff also, (about where exactly the push notifications are routed to and if these are encrypted) it's best not to follow my advises on this subject matter and ask others instead.
          I apologise for any confusion.

It is indeed awesome to see volunteers put so much effort into their work, it is alot of work that will be appreciated by the many that use their software, just like the Graphene project; it is amazing how much love, time and care is put into it by its developers.
In my opnion these tools are very rare in the world of today, but it should be the other way around if the world had common sense, less proprietairy blackbox spying software and more software with a free license, and lots of people donating, that would be a dream.

I've just looked into the subject further.
The apps are not compared to the source code, but to another APK from the original website, like the pre-build APKs on their respective Github pages. (Make sure it is the original appmaker Github page)
This way, if an app is compromised and reinstalled by a blackhat hacker (or an APk installed from an unknown source like a website that does not compare to the APK on the Github/creators page) using a different hash, that it means you will recieve an "unverified" (red) status, the hashes do not compare in that case.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Here is some more info on Appverifyer:
            https://github.com/soupslurpr/AppVerifier
If apps cannot be verified, it does not neccesarily mean they are compromised, but it might be an indiction of that.
Reproducable apps on F-Droid seem to have a better chance of verification.

          • GOS21606 These are not neccesarily compromised, but merely unavailable to verify.
Red means the apk is not equal to the source, it does not mean it is compromised neccesarily.
If the apk file can be obtained from a different source (like the official github) or another way perhaps a verification might be possible.
An unverified (not green nor red) status does not equal compromised apps, however, a green status does indicate the apk is equal to the source.
Yet, if that source is compromised the app might also, verified or not, like when the developer got hacked and signatures were compromised.
I might not have the full knowledge on how this works, and I am sure there are plenty of sources that can explain this better to you, but this is my two cents on the subject as far as I am aware.
In short: App verifyer gives you more certainty of the apk being equal to the source, it provides more likelyhood of not being compromised, not a guarantee, however, it is not a virus scanner, merely a verification tool.
It seems that reproducable builds from fdroid are more likely to be verified.

            • Dumdum Thanks for the information and the links, that is awesome!
I see that Privacy Browser might not be an ideal situation regarding security considering it is not a full browser packache as far as I can make out of the link you've provided. (I did read it in a hurry, my apologies, I stored it ofline and will read more later)
I also use the TOR browser for TOR traffic, I only use Orbot for several individual apps that support it, not for visiting onion sites.
At least now it is a bit more clear to me how webview-based applications function.

            • missing-root I believe there are TTS engines available for several systems, one of them is Android.
They also have other apps as well. (Vouce to text, etc)
I am not sure how reliable these pre-build apps are, so use them with caution, if at all.
And indeed, it requires a little bit of trial and error to see which TTS is the best, for Dutch, a "newsreader voice" coqui sounds realistic, the other ones are a little flawed.
For English, I find the Kristin medium voice work very well.
              Some others are inaudible.
