After some searching I may have found a fairly private and modern video editor. It is simple called 'Video editor and video maker'. It works without network access and has a lot of functions. One downside to no internet access is the need to manually find and install e.g. music/sound clips There may be others.
I am especially interested in this because my child want to play with one such, as does all her friends. Most other apps of this sort and functionality seems to need internet access and they are filed with ads and 'fashionably' sexualised content.
The app comes with no ads and is free (sound too good to be true!?).
Once we have used it some more, I tell of our experiences. If you have questions about it, please let me know.
