  • So I had the same issue on my Pixel 5 and CalyxOS and now also on my new Pixel 7 and GrapheneOS.

My problem was and is: The screen is black and will not come back until I force restart it. However the device is still responsive. E.g. I get vibration feedback when I use side buttons or certain sounds play, I can receive calls. The "only" issue is that the display is black and will not come up again.

I even took screenshots in this state to know what the OS "sees" in this state but these were just black.

So it seems this is a bug with Android 13. Just to summarize what I did beforehand: Went into car, AntennaPod was automatically playing on car stereo, I switchted to spotify, come home, turn car off, go inside and then I noticed this.

  • matchboxbananasynergy Thank you for your fast and helpful response! I had some experience with Seedvault in the past and just the backup itself can fail in unexpected ways so I already had little trust in it.

I think as it stands, I will probably wait with the upgrade to GOS until I buy a new phone so I don't lose a working state. Everything else seems to cause too much of an headache.

However I cannot stess enough of how much I appreciate the friendly response and welcoming words. Thank you!

  • I recently switched over from iOS to CalyxOS with a Pixel 5. Now after doing more research I would want to switch over to GrapheneOS.
Since I am not super familiar with the Android ecosystem yet, I wanted to assess how difficult a transfer would be. I think, the biggest help would be for me to transfer the apps and app data over. The files I could transfer later on more easily.

So my question: What is the best and easy way to transfer data when switching from Calyx to Graphene?
