  • Just found the post this week here on the private space feature and how it might be better then using 2 profiles. For me personally, i set it up today and removed my 2nd profiles, its a true blessing. Everything that I didnt like about working with 2 profiles has been resolved. All apps can work simultaniously during working hours while still being seperated, and after work i close the private space (i use it for work apps) and im free 😁 It was such a pain all day to switch between profiles and be unreachable often.

Question, is it possible to somehow organize the apps inside the private space? Im unable to move them within

    • What are these MD Documents in my recent files contantly being generated?

    • Hi, I'm in the market for a smartring and considering the ultrahuman Ring Air. Has anyone used it with GOS? Any issues I should know?

I've had a android watch before (tag heuer) but I had to sell it because most features were not available to me in GOS.

    • de0u At the shops where I tried it it should work. (Biggest supermarkets franchises, has stations)

    • I've registered with 2 banks (Openbank and Unicaja) that allow NFC payments without using google pay directly from the banking app. I'm able to select the app in the nfc settings of the phone as the main payment method.

In both cases though, I have enabled the mobile payment option (and confirmed with customer support its enabled for my cards), but as I try to pay with it I get a "unsupported card" error message on the terminals. Tried several large franchises to pay with mobile but none of them seemed to work.

Added a picture with the error message on the terminal.

The support of the banks confirm they don't see any incoming attempts of payments.

      (It translates to "Unsupported Card")

      • I just had a phonecall in my 2nd use profile. I bit record while on the line, and after the call it confirmed a file was created, but im unable to find it. Where can I find my recorded phonecall made in the 2nd user profile?

      • I've seen a leak today with images of the new models, particularly the google pixel 9 pro fold. Curious to see one, a phone and tablet in one device, thats not too bulky or heavy, with GOS installed would be amazing 🙂💥

Thanks, tested. 2 apps i wasnt able to update from Play store and have to remove and reinstall. with the netflix app it worked good.

So i guess some apps can, and some cant ;)

      • xxx Thank you, this helps. Will playstore pickup the updates if I remove aurora, or do I need to reinstall the apps that have been installed from Aurora?

Thank you all, i will try to move to a combo with just playstore sanboxed and obtanium. This makes things a lot easier.

        • mgeo You can open an Openbank account in Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands or Germany. To do that, you must be a tax resident in the country where you intend to open the account.

        • Hi! I switched from iPhone to GrapheneOS recently and happy I did so. I have a question about update / patch management.

I'm using multiple sources to install / update apps in 2 different profiles. (private and work profile).
Google Apps, Aurora, F-Droid, Obtanium, and I might even have installed one or 2 apk's directly form the suppliers website.

Because of this, compared to my iPhone with its appstore, updating is becoming a bit of a mess and I'm not sure if all my apps are up to date.

          2 questions;

In case of using google play store (in my work profile), does it still make sense to also use Aurora, since play store is installed anyway? Or should I just get rid of Aurora? (I need play store because of Android Auto).

2nd question; is there a way to centralize the update management from all these apps? Ideally I would only have to use obtanium and only use direct sources but.. Unfortunately the landscape is not setup like this. I've been able to eliminate a lot of apps or find foss alternatives but still like banks or supplier apps, its difficult to not use the official route. How do you make sure you are still being secure and not creating a mess of install sources becoming a new risk on its own?

          • The app stops crashing if i disable "pause app activity if unused"

Weird this was never a problem before

            • Hi, the Threema App keeps crashing the last couple of days on GOS, a friend has the same issue. How to report this?

              • Have you considered proton calender? I see you already use proton mail. Also for navigation in the car, try magic earth instead of google maps, it works pretty good. For payment via nfc there are banks who support it without using gpay by using the nfc chip directly, depending on your country you have to figure out which bank this is for you.

                • Meph I think its fixed now, app was not allowed to run in the background

                  • Arnauld I also use 2 profiles, my main and a work profile. But it works.

Just noticed a issue though, I didnt open the app in a while and tested sending a location request sms from another device, and it replied with a location that was old. I wonder if this is because it wants a setting I don't want to change which is to use a terminal and do something like "pm grant de.nulide.findmydeviceandroid.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS"

                    • Tested https://gitlab.com/Nulide/findmydevice and it works good. Whitelisted 2 family members, they can send me a sms msg and receive a auto reply with coordinates via sms from my phone. If the phone is rebooted or sim card is taken out it still works because i have a esim without a pin, its always "online" if powered on.

i didnt opt in for the option to communicate location with a server (either self hosted or public) since the sms reply with geo coordinates is all i need.

                      • I think findmydevice is open source. Also to report to a server is optional, you can also opt in to only answer sms messages from a specific whitelist if i'm not mistaken.

About your internet connectivity, if you use a esim they cannot remove it, and if you don't use a pincode the phone would stay one after rebooting it aswell.

Ideally it would be even better if the phone could be remote locked / antitheft / anti reinstall rom locked, not sure if thats possible though.
