mmmm I would argue that's a way more 'braindead' option.
I mean, braindead and sensible are two different things. Technically it would be "braindead" to just have a system that does everything for you and for the user to not think at all (like if someone was "braindead"). So therefore saying that Android needs users to "know how to configure it properly or know about GOS" would actually be the opposite since the user does think/do things themselves and so would not be "braindead".
Using iOS is certainly a sensible choice in many regards but it can still easily be seen (by some) as the "braindead" or, a better way to put it is, the "easy/quick shortcut" option.
Though the post was of course harsh, so no disagreement there.
