Anyone tried the new JBL Tune 310C USB type C earphones? Seems good for basic calls and music needs.
USB-C to Jack DAC compatibility list
Device tested: Pixel 8 Pro
DAC Model: Anker USB C to 3.5mm Audio Adapter
Store link: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Adapter-Female-Samsung-Devices/dp/B08Z3B5QL3
Works out-of-the-box and comes with CTIA pin mapping compatible with all common 4-pin plugs not targeting the Chinese market.
Can't complain about audio quality, volume is a bit quiet though compared to Bluetooth headsets or the phone's built-in microphone/speaker.
Device: pixel 7a
DAC: Fiio Jade Audio KA1
Plug and play aswell

Moondrop FreeDSP cable works perfectly (Pixel 6a).
Not a USB-C to jack per se, but I thought might interest some to know that it's working fine with GOS.
If you don't use the EQ functions, no need for the dedicated app (which apparently works poorly + is a privacy nightmare anyway).
Device: Pixel 6
DAC: iFi GO Link
Plug and play. The sound is awesome. I thought the UGREEN 20194 was good, but this is far better.
I've got an issue with iFi Go Link on Graphene OS: if I start a music app before plugging the DAC in and then plug the DAC, then I'm hearing loud intermittent noises coming from the headphones. If I stop the app, plug the DAC in and start playback, audio appears as normal. Is that expected behavior?
865be553dc4f5b2b It does so with any music app? I use HiBy, Plexamp, Tidal and Spotify mainly. Suppose I've tried VLC and Auxio with the Go Link even, on a Pixel 6 with GOS, and I've not had that.
ujjayi Yes, it does that with every app and now my method doesn't seem to work anymore - all I get on Graphene OS is noise, even after a reboot and plugging in and out. And again it does work flawlessly on Xperia and PC.
This appears to be a bug, but I cannot confirm whether it's Graphene OS or Android 14 specific. It is triggered by starting an audio playback and plugging the DAC in. It does mute the playback on the speaker but DAC output will start to output loud noises. If you pause the playback, plug the DAC in and start playback, it may play normally. I initially observed this behavior on WhatsApp and there no amount of plugging in and out could fix the problem. I suspect it's because WhatsApp while running may activate audio output chain even though there are no calls or notifications coming at the moment.
Can anyone confirm the behavior on Graphene OS and stock Android 14?

DAC Model: Beyerdynamic PRO X USB-C Cable (USB-C to 3-pole Mini XLR)

Plug and play. No problems with playback; excellent audio quality and gets loud enough to use my headphones as speakers. No problems while using the cable's built in microphone. There is a small delay (~1 second) when using the cable's volume and play/pause buttons.
Tested with Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO X headphones (48 ohms)
Device tested : Google Pixel 6a

Tested with Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO X LIMITED EDITION headset ( https://europe.beyerdynamic.com/dt-770-pro-x-limited-edition.html ). Works well. Powerful sound. Cable-integrated controls (volume up and down + pause) functional. The headset's built-in microphone also works, but I haven't yet tested its quality (I'd like to make sure there are no micro-cuts).
I use Pixel 6a with onkyo hf player, dragonfly red and sennheiser HD25.
Device tested : Google Pixel 7
OS : GrapheneOS
DAC: Fiio Q3
Works perfectly fine. Plug it in, the audio automatically switches to the Fiio and you can start listening.

Works well, inexpensive, doesn't drain very much power from the phone.
I usually use BT and the few times I have tried out this cable I didn't notice any difference in the sound quality.
