it's a pity, in my particular rare case (phone as replacement for a laptop and a thin client for accessing heavy apps on a remote VM), I'm heavily dependent on desktop mode, and assuming I'm in the process of migrating from Samsung, it looks like for a year it may not make any sense.
I've tried to use mirroring mode of pixel for that, but it's really painful.
Especially assuming that Samsung has introduced long term updates too.
I've previously decided to try pixel/gos instead of de-googling Samsung, but given the prices of Samsung's galaxy series comparing to overpriced and underperforming pixels, seeing how bulky is the smallest pixel comparing to s24 when covered even with slimmest case, I will, probably, go my plan B, de-googling Samsung and firewalling it with rethinkDNS+vpn+orbot.
Unfortunately, it has appeared that Vanadium doesn't support proxies, so I don't havve a chance to route web browser traffic via orbot and streaming over faster vpn, so I anyway have to step aside from GOS infra.
Also, there is no solution for wireless desktop mode or screen mirroring. It's only closed-source "phone-home" Chromecast that is supported by GOS/AOSP atm, while Samsung with their DeX supports open Miracast.
It's a pity Google is not yet into desktop mode.
Will keep my pixel with gos for experiments and as a backup device (as I thought it may be in case of a failure of my Sams->GOS switch attempt).
