femundo Yeah, I use the cash deposit system on cash app. Only works on the app...Thankfully cash app works for me (user account with Google Play installed, signed in) for me but I am really nervous about losing it. Cash App is way to useful to lose for me personally

femundo how is the bitcoin transaction method on cashapp? is it pretty good?

nonewbsneedreply I'm having the same issue. It doesn't matter whether I'm using my google services user or my normal owner user. It doesn't matter whether I'm using exploit protection or not. I've tried clearing cache, data, and re-installing. I still keep getting the error message:

we couldn't verify this account belongs to you

Hi! I'm having the same issue. Just documenting everything I've tried so far in case it helps others

  • I'm trying to setup the app on my main profile. Google play services are allowed but sand boxed and I'm NOT signed into google. I installed the app from the Aurora Store.
  • I tried signing into google play and got the same error again.
  • I uninstalled the app, the. Reinstalled it using the play store instead of Aurora. I got the same error message again and this time the app closed itself. Now when I try to open it it emediatly closes itself every time.

Imma mess with it a little more, I'll reply if I figure out a way to make it work :/

Twiggumps God, I hate how cashapp is so dependent on the application itself it outright makes the service useless without it.

It seems to be outright random BTW, cash app works on two user profiles I have. One logged in, google play sandboxed, another no google play services and is the owner, and one that has no google play services and isn't the owner but for some reason it will fail to log me in on that one.

I was chatting with someone from GraphineOS support chat Matrix on Element and they directed me to this article about it. I think this is what's going on with CashApp and proly causing issues for some other apps on Graphene as well. Doesn't look like there is going to be any resolution anytime soon either, unfortunately... I just spent a lot of time setting up a new phone and getting some other apps to working that were having some issues. CashApp is important for my business and it was the last app I installed, only to find out it's not going to work and likely won't be working anytime soon. A lot of time wasted... Thanks Google....

Are you doing something special with this? When I try this solution I have to have paid someone in the app first to do it through the web app. So when you say "it works", that's really only if you never need to add a new person, which feels like a huge point to leave out?

dwv4jjv5b Wow I just checked and you're right. You can only send money to people you've already paid before. I never noticed.

It seems Cash App officially does not support Graphene OS.

I called Cash App support for help with the error "We couldn't verify that this account belongs to you." on Graphene OS. As a troubleshooting step they wanted me to create a new Cash App account, and that is when the app directly told me "This device or software isn't supported \n Cash app doesn't support the use of emulators or other software programs". And after consulting with their specialist, my support person said that I will have to use another device.

While it would be great if companies cared to support Graphene OS, I also understand why they wouldn't waste their time doing so.

There are approximately 1.4 billion iPhone users and 3.9 billion Android users in the world. There are approximately 300 thousand Graphene OS users. In other words, Graphene OS represents 0.0057% of the smart phone population. I think we will unfortunately have to company rules/regulations/specifications (even if they don't make sense) around their apps, not the other way around.

treenutz68 Or, the poster could ask. Why take the decision away from Cash App? Because we assume they will say no? If they say no, then we can live with it (as you suggest), but there's no harm in asking them to consider it.
