kopolee11 Groetg No it's not possible to run GrapheneOS (GOS) on a Chromebook. They were referring to using a Chromebook to install GOS onto a Pixel. It may be possible to install GOS onto the upcoming Pixel Tablet, but we won't know for sure until it comes out.
Corso DeletedUser115 I demonstrated my ignorance quite well. LOL. I guess I meant “doggle. Connecting Chromebook and Pixel with a doggle, could that work in getting GrapheneOS? Thanks!
DeletedUser115 Corso You can install GrapheneOS on Pixel phone from Chromebook, you don't need a dongle for that. Just connect Pixel to Chromebook using the original USB cable that came with Pixel and follow instructions on the official GOS website. Good luck!
Corso DeletedUser115 Thanks a lot! Years ago I successfully rooted a phone and was terrified during the whole process. (okay, I’m being overly dramatic.) I don’t won’t to screw up my phone. Thanks again.
[deleted] Out of interest, have people found these docks offer full functionality? Like, say wanted to try a USB 4G dongle in the dock? And a keyboard. Share your successes.
ReadOnlyUser Ablewe USB Hub+LAN Device tested: Pixel 7 Store link: https://www.amazon.de/ABLEWE-3-0-Ports-Ethernet-Netzwerk-Chromebook/dp/B07YWTTP9L Chipset: ax88179_178a Works fine at Windows, Linux, and an old LineageOS device. Unfortunately, I didn't managed to get it up and running with GOS yet. Is anything else necessary other than just plugging it in when unlocked?
Countdown9 Name: WARRKY 2-in-1 USB 3.0/USB-C Devices tested: Pixel 8a Store link: link Chipset: REALTEK RTL8153 Just shut down the phone, plugged in this ethernet adapter, turned the phone on and GrapheneOS used it automatically.
buzer Countdown9 do you see some settings for ethernet? I tried the targus with the same chipset, but it doesnt work even after reboot. Maybe it's because I have Pixel 9 pro. Are there some adapters tested with Pixel 9 Pro??
buzer Hi, I have Pixel 9 pro and I tried the mentioned targus dock AWU420GL, but it doesn't work. Maybe I must set something and make some special steps? I rebooted the device while connected to targus, but it had no effect.
Norvax I'm using this Belkin USB-C to Ethernet adapter. https://www.belkin.com/p/usb-c-to-ethernet-charge-adapter/P-INC001.html It works great on Pixel 7a, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9a and the Pixel tablet. It does get a little hot sometimes, but that hasn't caused any issues.
buzer Norvax did you just connect it, disable wifi and mobile data and got ethernet connection? Do you see some settings for LAN connection within GOS?
Norvax buzer I just put in on Aeroplane mode, and I will get an ethernet symbol <---> next to the aeroplane symbol at the top. Swiping down from the top, and clicking the "Internet"-button, it will say "Ethenet".
buzer Norvax ok, I bought the one you mentioned (belkin), but the 100W one. And I bought the mentioned WARRKY 2-in-1 USB 3.0/USB-C. So I hope that something will work soon! Pity that the targus didn't work. Such dock would be a nice thing.
buzer ok, guys, I was so damn stupid :D I'm behind a firewall. So I made an extra rule for the phone it doesn't work without DHCP, so I turned on DHCP So the mentioned belkin, also in 100W version, is working on Pixel 9 pro!
