i'm not getting any low battery notifications. i dont recall if i ever did on graphene OS, but i've been using my phone heavily the last 2 days and its shut down on me without any warning twice.

Is there some setting i'm not finding (i've tried to look), do i need a extra app, what do i do to get notified of low battery?

In Settings > Apps > All apps > top right corner > Show system > System UI > Notifications, is 'Battery' enabled?

233328 Yes, Battery is enabled there. System UI is also allwped through Do not Disturb, a setting i changed trying to solve this issue.

I also dont have the notification and this battery option is on...

I don't get low battery notifications on a P8a with the activated System UI battery notifications either. Has anyone successfully troubleshooted this, or is this actually a widespread issue?

I don't think this is a widespread problem. Though it would obviously be very disruptive, I wonder what would happen if the device were "factory reset" and the battery run low, without any software installed and without any settings changes made?

Meanwhile, a couple of random questions:

    1. Are developer options on?
    2. Which languages are enabled? Which one is the preferred language?

Hi, I am not sure if I want to test resetting the device in the near future due to the time it takes to set everything back up again.
The developer options are on, with the sole toggle in a non-default state being the Linux development terminal that I ended up not yet using. I also never used adb nor rooted the device.
    System language is en(US) only.
The GOS installation was performed using the web interface and I am currently running the build 2025032500

      That is understandable!

But honestly I'm not sure what else to suggest. Perhaps other people might post their experience, but so far it doesn't seem as if this is an issue for many users.

      low battery notifications stopped. p8

I've been trying to troubleshoot this issue since I got my phone 7 or 8ish months ago now, which is also a Pixel 8. I happened to mention it recently in the discord chat and was pointed to this thread. I think this could be related to Battery Saver, which I just have enabled 24/7, which is how I ran my older non-GOS phones. I would still get critical battery warnings at 10, 5, 3 percent on those other phones. Several times now my phone has died mid-conversation because it doesn't give me any warning before-hand that my battery is about to go.

I'm not sure if this would be a bug that needs to be fixed or a feature request, but I would love to somehow enable low battery warnings on my Pixel 8 even with Battery Saver enabled.

Does anyone know what the correct behavior should be with low battery warnings? Currently trying to play with Battery Saver more to see if I can figure anything else out.

233328 Just to confirm, mine was enabled. Just also enabled "Override Do Not Disturb" to see if that does anything else, though havent been on DnD when issue occured. I also changed what I think is supposed to be the low battery sound file that was pointing to a .ogg, to a normal system based Alert sound. We'll see if that does anything too...

Pixel 7a owner here. I don't get a low battery indicator on my phone unless I disable the battery saver schedule. Your kilometrage may vary.

Van-de-GraaffeneOS Sounds like we need to figure out if this is intended behavior or not. It does seem like it should be way more wide-spread even with the battery saver option on. You would assume that at some point the battery saver is going to enable on everyone's phones and that in theory no more low battery warnings are given after that. However, I don't think that is necessarily happening due to the low frequency of this issue being reported.
