Is it possible your mom had planted physical microphones or things like that onto you and made you think it was your phone that she was using to listen to you? That still seems way more likely than using advanced 0-day exploits just to listen to what their kid is doing.

Highly unlikely, she knew my whereabout too. I would def know if something was planted on me rather than my phone. Honesty I'm shocked that people are convinced that it is very difficult to plant spyware/hack or whatever you want to call it.

This is happening a lot and my phone was def compromised. It happened for years and I'm just hoping that grapheneos is the right move. Anyways I'm not really getting many answers here, as I know these things are quite common.. I wish I were paranoid or over thinking. Anyways I guess discussion closed.

Aside from anecdotes - could you link to any sources that explain this easy and common method of remotely planting spyware?

Several here have already reviewed the Flexispy website. Flexispy does not live up to the claim.

Is there other spyware that you can cite? For example:

I'm surprised everyone is like "oh its expensive etc only gov agencies" - nah mate! This s* is happening a lot, especially where I live. Real estate agents for example try to steal each other's deals etc.

Could you share a link that gives more context about how real estate agents are hacking each other in your area?

Ever heard of a bluetooth tracker? These are interesting little things that send out beacons at regular intervals, and other devices (typically other peoples' phones) that are within range receive those beacons will report the beacon's identifiers and their location to some server. The goal of these devices is to help you find the location of something you might have dropped, like your keys, but they can also be used for tracking PEOPLE.

No "hacking" is needed to plant a tracker on you.

Bluetooth trackers are tiny, and can be hidden in between layers of a coat, or inside a car key fob. If you have a car or a bicycle, it could be hidden on one of those while outside of your sight and you'd never know.

There's a program you can download from F-Droid called "airguard" that can scan for and alert you to bluetooth devices that follow you around.

TIT ( This is Thailand), digging up articles in Thai would be difficult for me as it isn't my first language, people like Blastoidea would then go off and accuse me of not having proof thus "didn't happen", but here are some quick duckduckgo search articles that I've found (that anybody could have found).

Not everything is reported in Thailand some things you just know. S* like mobile hacking is happening so often here it was even mentioned during a pitch on Shark Tank Thailand.

If Thai were my first language I could probably find you more specific articles to back up my claims and you could google translate it or whatever but I'm not here to argue with people, just been dealing with it and being shot down by people on the other side of the world who clearly don't know what's really going down here. This is a serious issue and people are literally hacking for fun as the pigs are quite useless here and brush almost anything off unless you can name drop to get passed the initial guy at the station.
IF you can get through the initial guy, he's supposed to escalate the report to the cyber crime bureau.

Obviously I've been thru this, it resulted in an uninterested senior cop who brushed me off. I could scan the report but its handwritten in Thai.

LINE messenger is widely used as the main app in Thailand, feels a bit dodgy to me, but then again I lack proof, like I mentioned if I had proof I would not be on here.

Not going to dogpile on a call for proof or further explanation here since as you mentioned you just don't know how you were compromised, so I'll stick to just mitigations.
Reading the articles cited, phishing is the biggest vector of attack, which is actually the case most everywhere as our modern devices are usually not the weakest point in our security defences.
Truth is we the user are usually the softest target for attack and it is likely that you were victim of a spear phishing attack in which you were tricked into installing some kind of malware.
Switching to GOS is undoubtedly a good step towards improving your security and I would highly recommend you do some reading into the tactics used by malicious actors. This will help you to better recognize an attempt to compromise you device before it happens.
Be diligent in keeping your devices updated, suspicious of links and attachments in email or messages and learn about the vectors of attack that you are probable to encounter given your threat model.

At a quick glance the mentioned vectors are all for desktop operating systems, or did I miss something? I suspect people in Thailand are also breaking car windows and stealing things, but neither Windows banking trojans nor broken car windows equate to remotely attacking phones.

Remotely implanting monitoring malware onto a phone is absolutely possible, but that doesn't mean it's easy or cheap, or happening a lot - if the phone security is good and it is up to date.

I take full responsibility for that last post, I was respectful in all of my other posts as you can see.
I don't have to say this but it won't happen again from my side. I just wanted to get to the bottom of an issue that caused a lot of damage, and people are convinced that hacking isn't easy or just for governments, high value target etc. That's not the case and this thread should be information useful out there for everyone that this is indeed an issue. Having had that issue for a while I decided to switch over to GOS, just hope that that I'm better off. I do like the privacy features a lot but I switched mainly for security. FB and Google won't harm you as badly as the people "closest" to you.

Sinai It's absolutely true that zero click remote exploits on phones are generally possessed by entities with a lot of resources (to find the exploit in the first place) and that they won't use them on just anyone, because if they went about doing that, they would run the risk of their exploit being quickly discovered and patched. And because that would be a very powerful and valuable exploit, they can and do charge a lot for it's use.

Still got hacked thus still trying to figure it out.

Facts: mic/cam was accessed = spyware, formatting nearly every other day and changing number registered to someone else's name didn't prove to be effective. I'm using GOS now and still worried tbh.

Look at the lengths that people are going to on the link of a discussion I posted previously.

I'm could go to the dark web and figure it out etc but I won't, my moral compass won't let me become what I despise.

I even switched over to an iPhone temporarily with a new sim and again attached to someone else's name and it was still pretty bad if not worse.

I used apps like netguard and a couple alternative firewalls on my Android before I switched over to this phone with GOS. I installed GOS on this secondhand device at an internet cafe (not many left).
