  • Banking Apps - Charles Schwab "Files and Storage" play store issue

Curiously, this was working before the last major release. When I load the application, I get a playstore permission issue and the app is unable to sign in or load up.

I've tried using the compatibility fix in the preferences, but the issue still remains. Is there anything else I can provide to help debug?

If the issue mentioned is related to storage, it's recommended to turn on Storage Scopes first and see if it behaves any better. This can be found when Storage (Photos and Videos, Music and Audio, or the Files) permission is revoked, below the "Don't allow" option.

Thank you so much! This did indeed work and now the app loads. Setting a special folder via storage scope did the trick. My apologies for not RTFM more thoroughly.

And a follow up for others who happen upon this post:
To get the Charles Schwab banking application to work on Graphene OS v2022091400 and potentially higher, the following needs to be done in an exact order:

    1. Enable storage scopes for Google Play Services by giving it its own folder
    2. Download the Charles Schwab app from the play store
    3. DO NOT OPEN THE APPLICATION YET. If you do, you must uninstall and reinstall.
    4. Long press the Schwab application and open the App Info page
    5. Add a storage scope under Permissions -> Photos and Videos -> set to its own special folder
    6. Now open the application
      App will load without issue.
