Anyone having call issues after update?

As title, lots of call dropping and gaps in convo from my normal locality - home.

Only me and my phone, all with friends and family.

I've been having some random gaps of dead silence during a call.

It may be related to Wi-Fi calling as I had an issue this morning trying to place a call to a local number, the call looked like it connected but there was no audio at all, so I hung up, turned off Wi-Fi calling, called back, and it worked right away.

Are you using Wi-Fi calling?

I have had issues in the past even before being on Graphene where it would work great for the longest time then act up and I would have to turn off Wi-Fi to get a good call signal. I have had the same thing happen on other Wi-Fi networks and do not see anything indicating something specific to my network.

Unfortunately no, I don't connect to WiFi at my home address so just cellular and only since the previous 2 updates :(

I had a thought about my UK network, if no one else is having the same issue on GOS, then I was thinking the problem could be with them scumbags? maybe limiting pay-as-you-go sim cards in the area if bandwidth is low of something?

@dairymilkbatman - I am also having the same issues with my cellular network service on a Pixel 7 running build 2023103100.

This is running Verizon in the US. Sometimes data works, sometimes it switches on and off, back and forth from LTE to 5G and back. When I do get a call through the audio is delayed or drops parts entirely.

Sometimes when I do get a semi-stable service connection it will immediately drops the network if I try to call someone.

Do you guys think reinstalling the OS and starting again would help? because my phone - with calls - is barely useable.

There are things that could be tried before that.

Settings, System, Reset options, Reset Wi-Fi, mobile, and Bluetooth
Settings, Network & internet, [select your SIM], Preferred network type, LTE
Swap a different SIM card in, ideally one from the same carrier and then one from another.
Ask your carrier to replace your SIM card.

If you do end up resetting your device, and that does not help, it arguably would be productive to reinstall Google's OS - if the problem persists after all of those actions, it may well be hardware.

Thanks for the tips. Still testing them.,
I did noticed when changing my pref network, that it was set to 5G - which had changed magically because I definitely set that to 3G..... I don't need 5g, no one does really, and I think that might of been the issue because there isn't any 5g infrastructure here yet (thank fook).

I bet that solves it but either way I wil report back to this thread for future ref.

To update for future ref; it took me a while to test out each systematically, but I am happy to report that I don't think it is GOS or pixel related.
Step 3 seems to be working so far.

I think many carriers will replace a SIM card if asked. They can go bad -- sometimes the hardware goes bad, or sometimes the firmware is out of date.
